Flag football is a version of American football where the basic rules of the game are similar to the regular game, but instead of tackling players to the ground, the defensive team must remove a flag or flag belt from the ball carrier to end a down. Contact is not permitted and constitutes a penalty for whoever initiates it. Flag Football will be offered through the City of West Des Moines Parks & Recreation Department.
Rugby is a team game played with an oval ball that may be kicked, carried, and passed from hand to hand. Rugby events can be scheduled by contacting a RecPlex Team member.
